Property of the week

Whitegate House, Whitegate

Having recently joined Wright Marshall, it has been a particular pleasure to visit homes we are currently marketing. Whitegate House was one of the first I encountered, and having done so, I would encourage you to view it.  Whitegate House is a truly fascinating, historic and unique property which enjoys magnificent landscaped grounds which extend to 1.398 acres.

It originally started life around 1700 as an ale house until its closure in 1870 and was then turned into a private residence. It is believed in its history that Lord Delamere and an Estate Manager lived in the residence. Remarkably the house has only been offered for sale for one day in the last eighty years and has had only two owners in that time period. This in itself is a testament to what a fine family home it is and it can therefore be said with conviction that the buying opportunity today is an extremely rare and special one. I was struck by its stunning visual appearance and wonderful character – it also enjoys a super position with views of the Parish Church and Village School opposite.
